Dr. (Lt. Col.) Mahendra Kumar is a distinguished healthcare executive whose career brings together military medicine, hospital leadership, clinical governance, healthcare quality, and strategic management.
After completing his MBBS from Bangalore Medical College in 1997, he joined the Indian Army Medical Corps in 1998, serving the nation for 11 years with distinction. A Kargil War Veteran (1999), he has demonstrated leadership, resilience, accountability, and decision-making in some of the most demanding environments. In December 2004, he led Tsunami Relief Operations at Trincomalee, Sri Lanka, providing leadership during a major humanitarian crisis.
He later transitioned into corporate healthcare and strengthened his management expertise with an MBA in Healthcare Management from NMIMS University, Mumbai, and a Fellowship in Healthcare Administration from IIM Ahmedabad.
Since 2009, Dr. Mahendra Kumar has served in senior leadership roles across reputed healthcare organizations including Fortis, Sagar Hospitals, Cloudnine, and Kauvery Hospital. His extensive experience covers medical operations, clinical governance, quality management, NABH and NABL accreditation, credentialing and privileging, medical law, insurance billing, cross-functional collaboration, and development of high-performing profit centers.
